Atomiq developed a horror genre concept for a major new ride at Dreamworld.
For the Maurer Söhne SkyLoop roller coaster we conceived the master plan, theming and precinct development.
Based around the premise of a haunted sawmill we designed the new queue structure and load station as the abandoned sawmill building, complete with disused equipment, graffiti and cobwebs.
With the new ride positioned on the edge of a former Gold Rush themed precinct we were able to bring the haunted sawmill backstory to the wider area with a refurbishment of the existing precinct buildings, new signage and some complementary structures to give the entire area a new life.
Over all of this we produced a soundscape to help establish the haunted atmosphere and build anticipation.
