In 2011 Atomiq worked with Dreamworld to develop a major new ride precinct.
For the Maurer Söhne SkyLoop roller coaster we conceived the layout, theming and precinct development.
Based around the premise of a haunted sawmill we designed a new queue structure and load station as the abandoned sawmill building, complete with disused equipment, graffiti and cobwebs.
With the new ride positioned on the edge of a former Gold Rush themed precinct we were able to bring the haunted sawmill backstory to the wider area with a refurbishment of the existing precinct buildings, new signage and some minimal construction to give the entire area a new life.
Overall of this we produced a soundscape to help establish the haunting and build anticipation.
